Session 61: The Queen Awakens

General Summary

The Queen Awakens

10th of Spirende 22nd year of the Second Era
As The Regulators went to sleep, Echo began her meditation ritual. She found herself in the Fae Realm peacefully sitting in the forest. Hoewver, after a short time she noticed something was wrong. She opened her eyes and discovered she was stuck in the meditative trance, and the eternally light Fae Realm was darkening as it did when Hame appeared in her realm. A short time later the space around her changed into her home village the night that  Orcus' army marched into it. 
She ran to harm finding it already consumed by fire. Two undead creatures walked out of the home and regarded her for a moment before passing her by, just as they had that night. She ran into forest and was tripped by a protruding root. As she tried to right herself she found that the root was grabbing for her. It grew and continued to restrain her while producing a humanoid form that seemed eerily similar to her. The creature began speaking to her, demanding her life back and referring to herself as "The Queen." It turned itself inside out like a full body mask and pressed itself into her, briefly giving Echo the sensation of being blinded and suffocated, but she foudn that she was only holding her breath and still had her eyes closed. When she let herself breathe and opened her eyes, she was back in the prison cell, but the creature's voice echoed in her her head saying "who are you?"

Watching, Following, and Seducing

11th of Spirende 22nd year of the Second Era
The following morning the crew got to work on their mission, starting primarily with dealing with Guillermo Ferrer. Malcolm spent most of the day watching the patrol patterns around their secret stash. Zuko asked Barfouth Warhand where Guillermo's cell was and went there to begin following him around the prison.  Meanwhile, Meara and Echo went to talk to Jonas, the prisoner Guillermo was harassing. 
Malcolm established the timing of three different patrols from different parts of the prison and learned the windows that could be used to access the stash. Zuko followed Guillermo as he gathered a sizable group of prisoners and headed to crevice in the canyon wall. After distracting the prisoners guarding the entrance, he was able to slip in and discovered where Guillermo's supply was kept. He distributed some of it to the prisoners who appeared to be his distributors. He expressed frustration and concern about his dwindling supply due to not being able to retrieve the shipment the previous night. The rest of the day he followed Guillermo as he made contact with people in his operation, including about a dozen prison guards.
Meara and Echo went to talk with Jonas who recognized them and thanked them for defending him the previous night. However, he was reluctant to give too much information about Guillermo's operation for his own safety. Echo used seduction to loosen him up and nearly overwhelmed the young man. They explained that they were trying to help and he opened up about his part in the operation. In Guillermo's supply stash there is a small cavern comes out of the wall in the basement of the gate house. There among the normal supplies for the prison there are crates with Guillermo's illicit shipments which are slowly loaded into the cavern while Jonas keeps a lookout for signs the guards who are not in on the operation  are coming to investigate the sounds coming from the basement.
During the conversation, Jonas was delivered a hollowed out book with a potion inside. Meara investigated the potion and discovered it was a crude cure potion made with substitute ingredients. Jonas explained that something he was exposed to in the gate house was giving him a magical ailment. Meara used her magic to cure him instead so he could save the potion. They thanked him and by the end of the day the Regulators were reunited in their cell with Barfouth.
They shared their information with each other and began formulating their plan for degrading Guillermo's operation.
