Session 9

Honored by None: FINALE

General Summary

Fireteam Crescendo does battle with Eraksis, Honored by None on the High Plains of the Tangled Shore. It was hard-fought on both sides, but Fireteam Crescendo prevailed through sharp tactics and powerful displays of Light. Eraksis and Cloak engaged in a heated exchange of ideas throughout the battle, which planted seeds of doubt in Cloak as to his purpose. However at the end of the day Cloak struck down Eraksis with his Hammer of Sol, but not before the Dusk Baron promised a reckoning for the Last City and the Traveler that was rapidly approaching.

While the dust settled, a Vanguard agent arrived to lend aid only to find he was no longer needed. The fireteam conversed with Jarek Maran, who directed them to return to the Tower to debrief. The Spider also invited them to his lair to choose a thank you gift. The fireteam then ended the session in the Empty Tank to celebrate their victory with drinks before heading back to the Tower.

Eraksis, Honored by None	Eraksis berated Cloak over his role in the current Eliksni political climate. Some choice samples include: House Light dooms Eliksni to subservience and disgraces their proud history. Mithrax is a zealot clinging to a dead god that left the Eliksni to perish. The Great Machine punished Eliksni as its chosen people once, Cloak will be no different. Dying punctuates a legacy and cornerstones change for the Eliksni, and as a Risen Cloak can never do that. Humanity will never respect Cloak as an Eliksni, the two races are predetermined to be in conflict. Eraksis dies a martyr, having done enough work in his eyes to help his people in a meaningful way. A reckoning is nigh for the Last City and the Traveler, the Eliksni have been reborn in a way that humankind is not ready for.
Jarek Maran	Jarek sent an additional Guardian operative to assist the fireteam, but the help was not necessary. He congratulated them on their success and expressed pride in them for getting their job done.
The Spider	The Spider was thankful to the fireteam for protecting the Shore from Eraksis. He offered them each one item from his collection as a reward.

Created Content

1. Cloak asked The Spider for a favor rather than a material reward. The Spider accepted, gleefully, and is in anticipation of Cloak's request.
2. The party will level to Lv5 during their next long rest.
3. Both Bentley and Judge gain another Mark of the Void. They are visited by visions during their long rest. Bently is pushed by his Void power to be more aggressive. Judge is given visions of the Kentarch and the Unknown Artifact.
4. Calus will contact the party through Benedict in the Tower. He is interested in seeing Judge again, but news of Crescendo's impressive first deployment has got his attention. He wants to see if they all might want to meet with him to discuss a partnership. This begins the World-Eater questline.
5. Ernesto will be contacted by Frontline Azure about joining them. This turns into the Faction Wars arc.
6. The door is now open to pursue/investigate both the Black Armory and Zelle's note. Maps and content will need to be built for the Scourge of the Past and the Last Wish arcs.

Notes

• Zelle has realized that this group of people is one that she sees herself working well with.
• Bentley has begun drinking heavily, showing more of his unstable internal self.
• Cloak is pensive following his clash with Eraksis, clearly moved or disturbed by the Baron's dying words.
