Mazrahâl (mazz-ra-haal)

Mazrahâl is the god of War, Courage, and Stalwart Defense.
Mazrahâl is often depicted as a heavily armored warrior with a fierce expression on his face, wielding a massive dwarven battleaxe in one hand and a shield in the other. As a god of war, Mazrahâl is revered by dwarven warriors and soldiers, who seek his blessings before battle. His followers believe that he grants them the courage and strength to overcome their enemies and defend their homes and families. Mazrahâl is also known for his fierce loyalty and determination, and his followers see these qualities as the hallmarks of a true dwarf.   Mazrahâl is also revered as a god of stalwart defense. Dwarven fortresses and strongholds are often built in his honor, and his followers believe that he imbues these structures with his strength and resilience. Mazrahâl is said to be a master of defensive tactics and strategies, and his followers often study his teachings to improve their own skills as defenders. Dwarves rarely retreat, but when they do, those who stay behind to cover the retreat are prone to say they are "off to appease Mazrahâl." For a devotee of Mazrahâl, falling in battle while defending your post is the most honorable death one can acheive.

The dwarves celebrate a number of holy days in honor of Mazrahâl, including the Feast of the Anvil, which is held on the first day of Duinvetur. During this festival, dwarven smiths and artisans create intricate works of art and craftsmanship in honor of Mazrahâl, and dwarven warriors participate in mock battles and contests of strength and skill. The Feast of the Anvil is also a time for dwarves to renew their vows of loyalty to their clan and their god, and to reaffirm their commitment to defending their homes and families.
