Anchéadann (Ahn-she-ah-dahn)
The Mercurial God
Anchéadann is a Prime Deity and leader of the Tuatha Dé Chéad, the pantheon most closely associated with elves.
Anchéadann has always held a strong admiration for Agothodaeonad, The First Star, looking up to him and sometimes seeking to emulate. When Agothodaeonad created the dragons, the other gods were inspired to follow his example, Anchéadann most of all. Anchéadann created the elves and blessed them with far longer lives than most mortal races, in an attempt to replicate Agothodaeonad's creations, though his power was insufficient to achieve the near immortality of the dragons. Anchéadann, being highly artistic and prideful, also decided to handcraft each elven soul in an attempt to impress Agothodaeonad with his dedication. The result of these decisions is why elven souls reincarnate instead of proceeding to an afterlife like other souls. Unfortunately, this also is why there are a finite amount of elven souls, and new ones can only be created should Anchéadann commit to crafting them once more. Anchéadann's creations, the elves, also hold an inherent awe and respect for dragons much like their patron and will often go to great lengths to avoid confronting a dragon.
