Elemental Planai

Tied to the elemental planes, portals of which lie most common in the forests of Ancien, the Planai are a race of people whose physicalities have been altered by their proximity to elemental conduits. There are four types, the earth, fire, air and water Planai.

Basic Information

Anatomy

There are four types of Planai. The earth planai, most tied to the realm of earth, have dark green/brown skin that is hard as stone to the touch. Patterns adorn their bodies with lines that glow faintly. They have long ears and round faces. The fire Planai are most similar to humans or elfolk. They have regular skin that ranges from pale to dark hues. Their hair is their defining feature as it is made of fire itself, although controlled enough not to start any fires. Their eyes glow a bright orange and their bodies are hot to the touch. The water Planai have teal skin tones and long, webbed ears. Their hair grows at a prodigious rate and is always wavy, often with hues of green or blue. They have elegant features and slender bodies, and their skin feels wet to the touch. They have faint scales. The air Planai have cerulean bodies and white hair. Their ears are slightly pointed as are their chins. They are very lean and incredibly light.

Genetics and Reproduction

Like most sapient species, they reproduce through sexual intercourse. However, the child is not born as a planai, rather becomes one through training and meditation close to elemental conduits.

Planai grow at regular human rates.

Ecology and Habitats

Planai live near elemental conduits such as the Grove of Earth in Ancien.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Planai are almost exclusively found near areas of elemental energy like portals or gateways to the elemental realms.

Average Intelligence

Like most sapient species, Planai are very intelligent. Their years of training make them far more in tune with nature than most other species.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Planai are able to see in darkness up to a certain range. Each type of planai is in tune with their element and can perceive through it. Aside from that, their senses are no different from regular humans or elfolk.

For an earth Planai, the average height ranges from 5'-5'10". For a fire Planai, the average height ranges from 4'9"-5'5". For a water Planai, the average height ranges from 5'5"-6'5". For an air Planai, the average height ranges from 5'3"-6'.

Average Weight

For an earth Planai, the average weight ranges from 180-300lbs. For a fire Planai, the average weight ranges from 150-220lbs. For a water Planai, the average weight ranges from 100-200lbs. For an air Planai, the average weight ranges from 30-80lbs.

Average Physique

Earth Planai are often average builds. They do not portray much visible muscle, no more than the average human, although they are by far the strongest Planai. Fire Planai are the most visibly muscular, whereas water Planai and air Planai are the least physically muscular
