Kitsune

Whether by fey influence or a spiritual bond, Kitsune are are an oddity that occur when a normal fox reaches 100 years of age or has a transformative event that cause it to leave behind its bestial essence. The circumstances of their birth is irrelevant to most Kitsune as they are concerned most with living their life and their story. They can occur wherever foxes live, but most of them are picked up by the Tajul Halfling society as they feel a pull to wonder and hear stories, making them frequent friends of the halflings. There are three variations of Kitsune and the event that lead to their creation is usually the factor that determines the type they become.
Ability Score Increase: +2 to Dexterity
Age: They begin life as an otherwise ordinary fox that may live up to 100 years. Following a transformative event in that time, or upon reaching 100 years old, the fox permanently transforms into a Kitsune and gains a consciousness equivalent to that of humanoids. Most consider this event their "Birthday" though they are adults at this time and only track the years thereafter. A single tailed Kitsune has much the same life span as a Human.
Size: Around 4 ft in height and 50lbs. Size category is medium.
Speed: 30ft
Fae Tails: A Kitsune begins their humanoid life with a single tail. At 3rd level and every 4 levels thereafter you grown an additional tail as you increase in worldly experience. Certain highly impactful events (of a positive nature) may result in the growth of another tail (as GM discretion). Each tail increases your lifespan by 10 years to a max of 200 years total age (post initial transformation). Lost tails cannot be replaced naturally by anything short of an 8th level regeneration spell. A Kitsune may have a max of 9 tails, and impactful events do not replace lost tails.
Fox Fire: You know the dancing lights cantrip and can produce an additional light per tail. At 3rd level you can cast Faerie Fire once per day but the area of the effect is everyone you choose within the light of your dancing lights cantrip. The dc for this is 8 + Charisma modifier + proficiency bonus. When you reach 5th level, as a bonus action once per day you can deal 1d10 (+ your number of tails) in lightning damage to any hostile creature within 30 ft of you and within 10 ft of a Dancing light. Target makes a dexterity save against your Fox Fire DC, taking half on a success.
Language: Common and Sylvan

They typically have minor vulpine features such as slender faces, ears, tail, sharp teeth, and a slight dusting of fur in some places. They blend in the most easily to society.
Ability Score Increase: +1 to Charisma
Clever Disguise: You have advantage on deception checks to pass as a Tajul Halfling
Fox's Charm: You can use the charm person spell as a 1st level spell once per day and regain this ability after a long rest. The dc for this is 8 + Charisma modifier + proficiency bonus.

Inari

Foxes that do not undergo any special event, yet live long enough to reach 100 years in age, become Inari. They will forever be estranged from standard civilization but over come it with a deep curiosity. They appear like any normal fox with far more intelligent eyes and typically more tails. They have inherent magic that does allow them to appear somewhat humanoid, like that of a Tsuki Kitsune, but lack the social grace needed to fit in well.

You may chose how you appear at first level, but maintain the Tsuki features of ears and tails. The dc to see through the disguise is 8 + Wisdom modifier + proficiency bonus.

Yako
