Firbolgs
The Firbolg is a decedent of giants that adapted to deep jungles and forest lands. They often resemble large humans with thick hair, beards, and tough skin with a gray or pinkish hue. Most of their hair is of warm hues and kept long. Firbolgs gather in close knit tribes in remote forest strongholds, preferring lives of quiet harmony with the surrounding woods. However, many can demonstrate formidable skill with weapons and magic when provoked. The most well known and oldest stronghold is known as "The White Rock" (or "Children of the White Rock" when referring to its people), located in the Bobai Jungle of Guurmodo.

Culture
Culture and cultural heritage
Modest but encouraging self expression, firbolgs enjoy quiet, simple, and close knit lifestyles away from the chaos and drama of most societies, however they do enjoy news. An outsider may find a firbolg nosy or gossipy as they often want to know everything about neighboring strongholds and families, but its never out of maliciousness, but rather general curiosity for who they consider family. Firbolgs will even go so far as to call any other firbolg that isn't immediate family a "cousin" despite there being no real relation.
Common Etiquette rules
Eating is considered a social act where families eat together and clean the table together and talk about their day. It might be considered rude to get up and leave before everyone is done, or to not engage in conversation between bites. Additionally, wasting food by throwing it in a garbage would be considered rude, as most firbolgs are accustom to composting. Its also expected to provide tea or coffee for your host if you have visitors. They would find a host extremely rude.
Common Dress code
Most firbolgs have a love for natural plant based fibers (most commonly hemp) and simple practical styles with slight natural adornments. They are fairly conservative, often keeping well covered, simply as a general practice of modesty. They wouldn't be too bothered by seeing someone with more revealing clothing, but as a rule its not something they generally show off about themselves. The colors of their clothing is commonly bright faded colors of pinks, reds, yellows, and some browns. Knitting and crochet is common among firbolgs as well, so there is a an abundance of knitted clothing.
Art & Architecture
Most firbolg strongholds exist in forested areas with wooden structures built or grown from the surrounding trees. They often establish defensive towers with bridges or catwalks between them, and veil their homes in magic. If their home territory has rocky terrain, they may incorporate it into their structures, but never live with ground covering them (such as living in caves, tunnels, or barrows).
Common Customs, traditions and rituals
Most firbolgs don't eat a lot of meet and if they do, its typically only fish or bugs. They have a higher need of protein than elves or humans, but their connection with beasts make somewhat of a taboo to eat, especially anything mammalian. They have instead found ways to grow protein rich vegetables and make use of bugs. Firbolgs enjoy a lot of hebal spices and seasonings as well as coffees and teas, so all of their dishes are well flavored.
Birth & Baptismal Rites
A birth is usually cause for a group feast in the main hall of a stronghold, so everyone can meet and see the new member of the community.
Coming of Age Rites
When a firbolg reaches close to 30 years old, and they have found their "craft" or "duty" within the culture, the elders take them into their home as part of a ritual right of passage where they must cleans themselves completely in collected and blessed rain water, brush out all their hair, and remove any ornamentations. The individual will then fast for 3 days, cleansing themselves daily, until it is believed that there is nothing within our outside of them that is not their own. (This does not include the blessed rain water that is cleaned daily and provided for them to drink). Once they do this, the elders gather and perform a ritual that is more or less guided meditation involving stretches, breathing exercises, and visualizations meant to open one's mind and heart to all life around them and feel the energy of the world. Afterwards they are allowed to dress, and feast in celebration of their step into adulthood. Firbolgs do not gain the Speech of Beast and Leaf class ability without this rite of passage.
Funerary and Memorial customs
Firbolgs have sacred gardens in which the dead are buried, usually only wearing easy to break down natural clothing. Different strongholds have different garden types, though most will have a small grove of trees or perhaps a rare flower garden.
Common Taboos
Eating mammals is a big taboo for most firbolg cultures and so would wearing fur. Prize hunting or sport hunting without full use of an animal would be an extremely disgusting act for them.
Ideals
Beauty Ideals
Firbolgs love a good beard or well cept head of hair. Additionally, many find ways to incorporate nature into their look through flower crowns, natural fibers, antlers, horns, shells, and more. This is also amplified by the fact that they are a non wasteful society and everything gets used.
Gender Ideals
Firbolgs have a communal society where you can find a place anywhere that is useful and you are encouraged to find your niche. For example, if someone were to take an interest in carpentry, they would be encouraged to develop it and use it to better grow the community, or sell their crafts for other necessary items. Art is often an encouraged sense of expression. Many enjoy simple lives of farming and tending to gardens.
Courtship Ideals
When a couple find they like each other and want to marry, they will approach the elders of each clan. The elders will speak with the two together before dismissing them. They will then call a meeting with each individuals extended family individually, to discuss the desire for the individuals to marry. They give their opinion without telling either family who the other has chosen, though most families have an idea by the time it gets to this point. If it is agreed that they will marry (which it usually is), the couple must make a pilgrimage to a mountain, and upon the mountain catch some rain and bring it back to the village (usually in a jar or jug). If they can do this together, they are considered married under the blessing of The Mountain and The Sky. If they come back unable to complete it, then they can try again in one year, though if they return its usually because they could not get along enough to complete this task together. If the elders or the family denies the courtship, then the couple has two options. They can try again next year, or attempt to gain the blessing of The Mountain and The Sky without them. This is considered vary hasty and improper and usually does not result in success.
Relationship Ideals
Both parties in a relationship should be on equal footing and respected among the community. Because of their close culture, usually an entire stronghold will partake in helping raise children, but both parties in a relationship are deeply involved in household and childrearing. Since Firbolgs encourage people to find their own craft, it's not uncommon for a partners to be home most of the time tending gardens together or taking up forms of crafting. They don't have a standard idea of "jobs."
