Annyra
Annyra, also known by its full title, "The Sovereign Arcane Kingdom of Annyra," is a kingdom located on the western coast of Veshland, immediately south of the Scipien Empire. Annyra is a sort of monarchical mageocracy, as, since its foundation in 2541 PAC, Annyran has been ruled by a line of "Wizard Kings" who gain their power from an heirloom from the Great Arcane Era, known as the Annyran Spellbook. Each king has passed this spellbook down to his son, nephew, or in a few exceptional cases, his wife, daughter, or sister, and so every king of Annyra has been a Wizard King.
Approximately 120 years ago, the country's northern neighbor, the Scipien Empire, annexed Annyra, instating a local Scipien governor and beginning a massive military occupation of the country. The Wizard King at the time, though deposed, managed to escape with his life, and he and his surviving advisors helped to run an underground resistance against Scipien forces. The Annyran Resistance, as it was known, lasted throughout the entire span of its occupation by the Scipien Empire. Beginning in 3030 PAC, the Scipien Empire began pulling its forces out of Annyra, mostly in order to deal with internal problems, and by 3036 the occupation had ended. In 3038, the Scipien Emperor formally acknowledged Annyra's sovereignty.
Annyra's current Wizard King is Teren of Annyra. His son and heir, who is currently learning magic from the him, is Crown Prince Panim the Free .
