Timir

Geography

Timir is the Southern Continent of the Firmwold.

Surroundings & Relationships

To the northwest, Timir is connected to Rakia by the Ranliehat Ithsmus.   To the north lies the great Sea of Oimo, separating it from the Northern Continent of Liassang.   To the east lies the Rydini Sea, bordered by the Alerad Island Chain, and (beyond, or towards the southeast) the Ieta Ocean.   To the south lies the Diedald Ocean, including the noteworthy islands Piqh and Taiskel. Timir is the closest continent to Elmengoth, which lies across the eastern part of the Diadald.   To the west lies Jalut Sea, including the noteworthy archipelago Pyskelser. Sailing north across this sea can also connect Timir with Rakia.

Regions

The western half of Timir, from the Chamadar Desert in the north to the Jalut Coast in the middle to the mountainous Undjaskla Pike in the south, is the wreckage of the War of Gnollish Exile. These lands are sparsely populated, unless you count being populated by ruins.   The northeastern region is dominated by the Tanutt Mountain Range. These mountains separate the subcontinent of Marilsa from the rest of Timir. In the midst of the mountains is Quoon Plateau. In the valleys coming off of the mountain range to the east are the mighty dwarven stronghold Kartekus and the realm of Jarl Usk-Erom. To the north of the Jarl's territory, the narrow and rugged Tanutt Penninsula juts far into the sea.   The central eastern region is a hilly wilderness called Biworr. It has a reputation for being filled with savage races and dangerous, unsavory creatures.   The southeastern part of Timir is the vast Smigrin Empire, second-largest civilized nation of Ferkathas, as well as the wild Draigdar Basin in the Empire's corner.   Finally, the central southern region of Timir is a hotbed of conflict, where the Smigrin Empire butts up against four smaller but militant nations: Tanash-tok-Biworr, medusa-ruled Morraka, hobgoblin-ruled Risfvor, and Sondadarsda.
