Ruler of Ciheim
Qualifications
The members of the Huyaliw clan have ruled Ciheim for well over 600 years.
Requirements
The crown is passed from the current ruler to the eldest child. In very rare cases it passes to a younger child. In the case of a childless ruler, it passes to the nearest blood relative, preferably a grandchild, sibling, niece/nephew, or cousin in that order.
Appointment
There's a coronation ceremony performed by the impending ruler's preferred priest.
Duties
Keeping the peace, administering justice and upholding the law.
Responsibilities
The current ruler is expected to lead the army into battle. They also have to make sure their capital city and other lands are safe, manage the other manors and small businesses, make sure everybody is doing what they are supposed to because if one class misses something the others will have to suffer too. They also deal with trading with other kingdoms and making sure the treaties are up to date.
Benefits
The monarch can effectively do anything they wish since they rule over all the land and everybody below them in the hierarchy has to adhere to their rules.
