Whims

Whims are relatively recent discoveries in the Whimsey, in large part because the Mortal Phase has been cut off from The Whimsey ever since The Collapse. The first breach of the barrier, in fact, was when Olivia Vahlen stumbled through the Voidphase and into The Whimsey. But, in the last 23 years, slowly the weakening of the Voidphase has allowed a slow trickle of planeshifters to learn the secret passages. It has only been in the last couple of years that enough fey have made it through to learn about creating Whims, or bottling human emotions into objects for consumption by the fey, for whom it is akin to a potent drug.
Creating a Whim requires the Infuse Emotion spell which must be cast while a human within 30 feet is experiencing a particularly intense emotion. The spell requires, as a component, an Unchor. Unchors are any physical object no larger than 25 pounds and less than two feet square in volume. These Unchors create tiny access points into The Whimsey, weakening the Voidphase. An Unchor can be used, from the Mortal Phase side only, to transport a creature into the Whimsey. On the Whimsey side, the object takes on a slightly variated form of its Mortal Phase equivalent. Fey are able to consume this object and experience the full range of the emotion captured by the infusion spell.
Among the most desired in the Whims market: fear, joy, jealousy, and rage.
