Silverstone Shipping Company
Nahgigoth Silverstone started Silverstone Shipping Company shortly after moving to Grasmere largely as a scam. Initially he only owned a handful of crates and rented a tiny upstairs storefront along the waterfront. The business model at that time was to purchase last minute cargo space on disembarking merchant vessels without loss or damage insurance and overpack his crates to maximize profits. Any significant loss would have tanked the business but Nahgigoth was lucky and by the close of the first year he had earned enough to afford his own ship.
Over the years, Silverstone's corner-cutting lead to several financial setbacks including a near bankruptcy in c2382 following a season of bad storms and a poorly maintained fleet. Nahgigoth was able to turn things around with a sizable loan from Luvon Daebalar, though the interest Daebalar is charging is eating most of Silverstone's profits to the point that Nahgigoth has slowly cut back his full-time personnel and has mostly been relying on mercenaries to crew his ships and day laborers to handle the docks and warehouse work.
