The Bachelor

There once was a brave young bachelor,
A deadly woman by his side.
She was promised to many a man,
But in the end, they always died.     They continued the search through the shadows,
But no suitor could be found.
They searched both high and low,
And wound up underground.   This bachelor found his party,
With a lady that he admired.
She chose to stand in front of him,
And so, he was inspired.   This Lady was lovely and strong,
With her sword she was a shield.
He’d always fought alone, and yet,
He couldn’t make her yield.   They fought through many a foe,
And then escaped, or so they thought.
As the lady took the lead,
And learned the truth--that they had not.   They sprung back into action,
And the Hunter found his mark.
He pulled her back and then attacked,
At home back in the dark.   But something wasn’t quite the same,
He realized with a fright.
The dark no longer felt like home
Since he’d been shown the light.   The monster somehow spotted him
And he faced the beast head on.
He took a shot as it took one too
And both were hit dead on.   Despite the pain, he felt something
He hadn’t in a while,
A warmth had pierced his calloused heart
And he couldn’t help but smile.   The beast, it wrapped around him,
And he hugged his oldest friend
As he entered the belly of the beast,
And there he met his end.   I witnessed and wrote this song
So none could ever forget
The tale of the brave young bachelor
Never to wed his bachelorette.

Purpose
