Anzû
Warden of the Sacred Grove
Anzû is an Archfey who acts as the ancestral guardian of the Singing Wood and its royal family. They made a blood pact with Azar centuries ago that continues to be honored today. This pact has protected the land from would-be conquerors for thousands of years; only those approved by Anzû may take the throne and be master of the wood. All others are doomed to be lost to oblivion in the forest.
Anzû is typically depicted as an unknowable figure with many eyes and many wings.
There is a shrine to Anzû located deep in the forest. Members of the royal family make pilgrimages to this shrine for auspicious occasions such as festivals, marriages, and coronations to get Anzû’s blessing, which can be observed through fair winds.
The Faelia Flower, a flower native to the Singing Wood, is Anzû’s sacred flower and thus its petals, pollen, leaves and oils are used for various sacraments. Since Anzû's is the guardian of the royal family, their blessing is felt by the entire kingdom and thus Anzû is revered by all the elves of the Singing Wood.
