Felival Home of the Felye and Beasts Beyond

Year of the Catmint

Welcome to Felival, Traveler!

Good tidings and well met.

Our world is our own - filled with cats and giant beasts, some so Olde that they are shrouded in mystery. There are some who are fascinated or suspicious of the Olde magicks, though most are at least superstitious (to be on the safe side of the michievous unknown).

These intelligent cats, as capable of walking upright as they are on all fours, are known as the Felye (fee-lie). Their paws are busy with crafts, trade, and building. They hail from humble hamlets and bustling cities. The Olde Ones have not walked these lands in ages, and aside from the occasional beast sighting, the Felye have not known siginificant strife in some time.

Until now.

The Wandering Way Stones

Mysterious standing stone markers, called Way Stones, littered across the landscape. No one knows who made them, or why, though there are dozens, if not hundreds, of theories.

There's a lot of strange stories about these stones, but little actual data. The Atheneum's Historical Preservation Society's greatest project is catalouging and preserving all known stones, as well as locate any that lie yet undiscovered, and unravel their mysteries.

However, when the History Preservation Society teams up with the neighboring university's Magick Research Association, they disappear into the shadowy Bent Tail Forest without a trace. Rumors have spread through nervous whispers all across Felival about a Haunted Village, nestled deep within the trees, and cats who enter the Bent Tail are never to be seen again. It seems that Elderhall's academic field team are not the only ones who have gone missing.

Role Playing Game System: Wanderhome

Our story utilizes the core mechanics and rulebook of TTRPG: Wanderhome, with some homebrewed modifications to character sheets, including a looser interpretation of selecting traits or prompts to answer. Players are welcome to select from core Wanderhome playbooks, 3rd-Party playbooks, or otherwise modify and create their own if one is not suitable for their character.

Proficiencies & Hinderances

Profieciencies and Hinderances are special abilities tailored to the playable characters' personality, characteristics, hobbies, or trade.

Proficiencies are abilities activated by spending a token in order to move the story along, help another character, or help oneself.
Hinderances are abilites that earn the player tokens by inconveniencing their own character in order to help another, create tensions with the involved characters, or present an obstacle to overcome.
