The Void Maelstrom is an amalgamation of elementals created by Aalar Frostwind. They were created by the fusion of a fire elemental, a biting maelstrom, and an earth elemental. They aren't naturally formed, and can only be made by powerful wizards and sorcerers.

Anatomy

Void Maelstroms look like corrupted centaurs, with a horse-like body and human like upper torso. Instead of a human head, however, they have a long, snouted maw with no see-able eyes.
