Backstory
Malty Greem was born into a long line of Magical Appraisers, people who inspect and appraise artifacts of a mystical nature. Through this niche but lucrative position, the family quickly grew wealthy, as other elite mage families in search of powerful mystic codes would search out the Greems to ask for their appraisal even for the hefty price. And due to their unique position in the Magic Community, they were allowed to flourish freely, as harming or gaining their disdain was more detrimental than it was possibly worth. Malty was born as the latest generation of appraisers, gifted those same Mystic Eyes the family has cultivated for years. She grew up in a lavish environment and though she was spoiled, she found the commoners more fun to hangout with and due to her much wider perspective, she grew up a little bit more humble than her relatives. She was a darling child, given everything she needed along with the training necessary to master her unique powers, along with the magecraft of her choice. However, she was reminded day in and day out that she was not only the family’s legacy but that even in their status, they are not free from enemies. Though determined to continue the family business, the pressure of carrying her family’s legacy began to grow and the knowledge that she would soon have a target on her head helped add to the stress. She was her family’s oldest child and they spent so much on her and it got to her well-being slowly. She’d grow more fearful as she slowly drifted from her home and friends, slowly becoming disillusioned with the idea of continuing the family legacy. She’d run away to the Clocktower, hoping there she could be safe. And for the most part, it was safer for her. The new friends she met and the professors who taught her helped relieve the stress and fears she had been feeling since childhood and with a clear head she was able to further hone her abilities. But in the back of her mind, she knew her family was looking for her, angry that she ran away. Worst of all, her fear of death would come back to haunt her in the Grail War she’d participate in with her friend. And though she came out alive, the fear of death had shaken her up badly. She’d recover years later with the help of that same friend and family but the whole experience shook her very core, sending her self-preservation instincts to overdrive almost all the time. At the moment though, she’s at peace, only stressing over her studies more than battle. But with the current state of her luck, she knows she will have to fight someday again. Personality
A valley girl or a gal, whichever you prefer, is the simplest way to explain who Malty is, or at least how she acts. She’s silly, energetic, a goofball but overall a well meaning and kindhearted soul who wishes nothing but the best for her loved ones. Though it's hard to pick those points out when most of the time, her expression is dull and stoic, rarely expressing anything other than “indifference.” She loves fashion and goofing around, spending her free time shopping, eating out or training her body. She mostly keeps to a personal routine, only ever deviating if another more important matter pops up, such as something related to her friends. And underlying all of this kindness and willingness to help is an innate cowardice of her’s. When trouble is about or something that frightens her appears, she’d rather run away than face them, even if the object of their fears is objectively less frightening or is weaker than her. She does try to fight through her cowardice but her survival instincts are so strong, that she feels self preservation is better than to help even her best friends. At least in some circumstances, she does fight despite her fears, though in her own mind, she finds that stupid. She desires courage but usually fails to grasp it. In terms of combat, she is actually quite cocky, surprisingly so. Though her confidence comes less from hubris and an understanding of her own capabilities, thus making her a graceful loser and winner. Though she does get into habits of salt feuds.

Mystic Eyes of Prismatic Clarity
The family Mystic Eyes. It allows her to see intent and feeling, displaying emotion as a bright aura and colorful aura surrounding that person and displaying intent as a brief projection behind the person or object. Intent shows what that person aims to do, usually colored in the emotion of that intent as well. Objects are similarly affected, reflecting the creator of the item’s intended use. Especially effective on magical artifacts. Due to the nature of these eyes being able to see emotion and intent, this can work on spiritual beings, allowing her to see the invisible.Gemcraft Sowulo: Stun Bomb
A technique of filling opaque quartz with mana, causing light to build up inside it. Once the crystal reaches a critical mass, it is thrown, where it blows up in a blinding light like a flash bomb, stunning both people and phantasmal creatures due to the use of the Sun rune, Sowulo.Inguz: Ditz Familiar
Calls upon her familiar to assist her in combat. For a short duration, the fairy can be placed on any ally to shield them from harm or so make it fly towards an enemy, harassing them with magic bombardments.Gemcraft Jera: Terraform
Throw an emerald into the ground, where it proceeds to dig into it. It rapidly transforms into a mess of bramble and roots. It then lunges forth, seeking out the nearest person and attempting to tackle it and anything behind it. Upon crashing into that person, it inflicts a binding spell that then binds that person and locks their circuits momentarily.Generalized Information
