Hokubu Yoake

Backstory
Up until his 16th birthday, Hokubu has been living a rather normal life. While both his mother and his father were mages, they both decided it would have been better if both their children (respectively Hokubu and Minami, the former’s sister) never stepped into the Moonlit World. And, as such, they never did, even if both of them knew of the existence of it. Hokubu mainly knew from the existence of his Mystic Eyes, which he continued to activate at random until he learned how they functioned. At any rate, the boy’s normal life was not really going well. As he felt “not normal” compared to his peers, he began to distance himself from other people. While that led him to get good marks most of the time, it also led to an ever-increasing lack of social activity, leading him to become how he is today. This also made him doubt what he could do best: As much as he studied, he couldn’t find anything that he would truly like. As such, when he was 16 years old, he had the dubious idea of researching into the Moonlit World by secretly going through his father’s notes. Through them, he learned all the Magecrafts his father studied and how he applied them. Over a simple year, he managed to learn, some in practice and some in theory, many types of Magecraft, with Healing Magecraft being his best one. However, his parents finally noticed his hidden studies, making them ask if he truly wanted to delve into the Moonlit World and become a Magus. Hokubu, even though unsure given his personality, basically answered yes. While begrudgingly, both of his parents prepared him for another few months before sending him off into the world, while also giving him a couple of Mystic Codes that would have been useful considering his talents. As such, as he lived in London, he joined the Clock Tower as a student, in hopes of pursuing something that he was properly able to do.Magus Abilties

Origin:
Bearer of Grief This Origin represents Hokubu’s self sacrificial personality which strives him, regardless of whatever kind of he pain he has to go through, to be of help to others. As a result of this Origin, Hokubu can take any effect that causes pain, whether physical or magical, and transfer it from the person feeling said pain to Hokubu himself. His body will then slowly begin to “fix itself”, starting to remove whatever had caused the pain from Hokubu’s body while he continues to feel pain. This healing process varies from the gravity of the wound: For example, if it’s a lost limb, this will continue for one hour. If, however, it’s a wound precisely made to not be healed (like Gae Bolg), then the fixing process will take weeks, where Hokubu will be automatically put in a comatose state.Elemental Affinity:
Wind & WaterMagic Circuits:
Magical Circuit Grade: A (D)
As he came from the union of two families with pretty long lineages, Hokubu’s Magical Circuits are of high quality. However, as he only recently was able to activate said Circuits, he cannot draw the full potential of them. As such, his Magecrafts suffer from lack of power, as much as Hokubu trained with them.Magical Circuit Volume: A (D)
What applied to the grade of his Magical Circuits also applies to the volume: Because of the union of two families, Hokubu also has a high quantity of Magical Circuits. However, just like his Magical Circuit Grade, most of these circuits are not activated, and as such he can only activate a small number.Magecrafts
Known Magecraft
Hokubu can heal other people through the use of Healing Magecraft, the type of Magecraft he is most proficient in. His healing extends to quickly healing detached limbs, removing negative ailments (like poison) from a person’s body and also healing minor curses. The only thing he can’t do (at the moment) is cure major curses or heal extremely fatal wounds (at most, he would be able to keep someone alive, but not for long). Thanks to also learning Projection and Reinforcement Magecraft, he can now also apply a reinforcing effect to his healing, making it possible for the targets to receive effects related to Reinforcement Magecraft. While he knows many other types of Magecraft (like Curses or Wind Magecraft) in theory, he cannot put them into practice on his own.Mystic Eyes of Concept Perception
Hokubu’s Mystic Eyes, which allow him to perceive everything regarding the world around him. Whether living or nonliving, he is now able to perceive the concepts within objects and beings through the form of lines that describe either a single word or an intricate sentence that explains a concept within that person, which Hokubu is able to read near-immediately. For example, with enough concentration, he could perceive a Servant in Spirit Form and see the concept of “Spirit Form” within them. In addition, he can also affect the lines he sees by cutting them. Still in the Spirit Form case, if he cuts the line that says that, the Servant will stop being in Spirit Form. However, there are specific rules in regards to cutting the lines he can perceive: He can’t cut the lines of Life and Death (and, as such, he can’t insta-kill someone) on living beings, but he can cut lines related to those concepts, like emotions. However, the cutting of lines on living beings is only temporary. For example, Hokubu could cut a line related to the concept of “love” in someone’s body: For a specific amount of time, the person wouldn’t be able to feel “love”, but after that time, they would be able to feel “love” again. The more a concept within one’s body is related to their own Life or Death, the less time the cut lasts (for example, the concept of “Thinking” within a person will be restored within a second, as they’re too vital for one’s Life). However, this only applies to fully living, organic beings. If Hokubu fought something that is not alive (like a Fireball) he could cut every line within them permanently, even those of Life and Death (dissipating the Fireball). Lastly, there are some drawbacks: While Hokubu can activate the eyes at will, he cannot deactivate them until 5 minutes have passed since the activation. The overload of information he receives through passively perceiving concepts, even within 5 minutes, is also heavy on his mind, making him tired out much more quickly. In addition, to perceive a specific concept and cut it accurately, Hokubu needs to heavily concentrate, so distractions are also a pain while activating these eyes. Finally, the Eyes see every Servant (even robotic ones like Mecha Eli) and being related to them as “alive”, meaning he can’t kill them instantly by cutting their lines of Life and Death.
Personality
Hokubu is a person who could be described as timid and shut-in. His lack of willingness to socialize with his peers during his childhood shaped him to not talk a lot with people, making him a rather awkward person in a group. Because of this, he also developed a permanent stutter, making him seem timid even when he (rarely) becomes courageous. He also has developed Hemophobia, a fear of blood, although the cause for this is unknown even to him. Deep down, he does have a good heart and is easily willing to be put in harm’s way to protect his loved ones, but he feels that he’s doing something wrong at every turn, especially when he has to take particular decisions. However, he doesn’t let his discomfort, or his emotions, be seen, as he’s the kind of person that wants to take care of himself and not let others worry about him.
