Backstory

Simp-Type Magus. Faschl. The Family Duncan hails from is tied directly to the Animusphere's. Existing as a branch family or rather “faction” that supports them and is directly involved in their politics. Whichever way you would like to see it.   It is unclear when exactly they joined up with them, but if their display of Astromancy is anything, it would be reasoned enough as considerable time.   In any fashion, like most of the Branch Families being involved in some way, the Faschl focuses on creating something directly for the Animusphere heir-to-be, or head of family.   In this case, it is an appropriate bodyguard, a servant who is skilled both in magecraft and physical combat.   Of course. That would mean the Magus in question would need adequate circuitry and physical potential beyond the scope of a simple mage. Which was difficult to accomplish to say the least.   But the practice perfected itself eventually. By keeping the bloodline properly filled with a right array of “genes” and magical circuits, the ideal Bodyguard could be made for the Animusphere. Such was done.   Eventually. Duncan's conception and birth happened unto the world a few years before the next heir would be born giving them ample time to prepare on top of already made preparations. In other words. Excessive training, the works.   Ahem. In any sense of that fashion. Proper training in magecraft had been issued and the practice of the “Mystic Code” additionally was coupled in as a factor from a young age. As you could imagine, the very concept of being trained both magically and physically was arduous and utterly a pain to go through. Had it not been for the resolve of origin, which was more or less, in a way a “created origin” due to the goals of the family at the time to create that perfect “bodgyguard”, he would have definitely not have received as much success as possible. That, and the affinity of fire, that burning spirit, came naturally. So the force of will with the new generation was definitely there and ready for the burden.   In any sense of the word burden. The family split their Magical Crest in two; as it was tradition to share unto their successor such a legacy of knowledge those who previously wore the mantle and lived the tale of experience. But. It was found out he was incompatible. The operation was ruled out of the question, an heir who was unable to bear Magical Crest. As to why the crest had failed. It would be simple to imagine if you considered the Elemental Affinity and Origin playing a vital role instead of just being “connected” to the bloodline in this case. The Force of Will of Fire and the overall will to serve and be loyal to the Animusphere name deemed the crest "unnecessary" to bear despite the advantage it would yield. At least, that's how it would work in theory.   Normally. This would be considered a failure of an heir, but it only proved their suspicions. Their methods had become ineffective because they achieved the peak of their theory; the body was at the level of rejecting additional things in no longer needed and only allowed, on the magecraft level, things that would entirely be required for the duty. You could effectively be considered a “First-Rate Magus” without having a Magical Crest if you were that skilled, so what said it couldn't apply to Duncan as well, but in a different scope?   His weakness is more or less just that. He can grow in what he still needs but not learn that of which is unnecessary for his servitude on a magical level. A sort of “bind” to the knowledge he can put to use.   In any sense of the matter, that only aspired the young Magus to strive for heights without the support of crystallized mystery; for that reason of growing to new heights, it didn't seem like the Mystic Eye his family implanted rejected him at all.   Eventually meeting up with the young Animusphere family head and becoming her protector after she turned— disclosing a woman's age is forbidden. So. You can imagine it was when she was still young, but he was a bit older. And that was the true start of his servitude to that woman who could crush many under her finger.

Magecrafts

Elemental Affinity — Fire
The magical alignment of the Magus is fire. It deals with consumption, heat, entropy, fuels, energy transfer and thermodynamics. Most associated with its "destructive nature" it is more or less regarded as the element that embodies "heat" more than the true concept of fire alone.
Magical System — Astrology
A member of a branch family to the Animusphere's legacy. They are those that are tied “second closet” and thus, it would make sense they follow the Animusphere theory of Astrology and or Astromancy and practice it. In this case, though Duncan is capable of feats great to Astrology and well-skilled, the enchantment side it brings upon is more greatly used by him for specific reasons. In some sense of the fashion, you could call him a bit too skilled in that regard.
Magical System — Alchemy
A form of alchemy that is derived from various theories but typically stems from the Giant's Pit. Though it is “altered” in some fashions to cater towards the specific Magus family, they are capable of traditional alchemical feats consistent with both major theories. The Flow of Matter and Conversion of Phenomenon, an advanced and heretical form but effective nonetheless. Thought Acceleration and Memory Partition are not advanced in this field, however. But included nonetheless.
General Fundamentals
The concepts of modern magecraft and the overall fundamentals that go with magecraft theory are accounted for. Basic and simplistic forms of that theory are treated in lieu. Though, it seems almost unnecessary to state such.
Evil Eye of Gathering
The sign of a first-rate Magus imprinted upon a single eye; a Mystic Eye. Its function is simple. Collection of Data, the premise of “gathering” in this sense. It couples all knowledge before the eye and simulates possible theories and answers until a concrete answer can be reached; at least, that's how he uses it. It's stronger with the more knowledge that the Magus more-or-less pertains and discovers of the situation or person in question.

Personality

A noble and virtuous man who wears the hard exterior of a true Magus. Unmoving, cold and reserved in most instances despite embodying the visage of that "noble-and-virtuous-man" term used earlier. There is a good reason for that. He comes off as rather imposing and calculated to those who lay eyes upon him. And that would be due to his main occupation.   In truth. That's just how he comes off at least to those he isn't so close with. It isn't as if he's distant, but rather approaching him can be so difficult when he's curious about every person he lays eyes upon or catches a glance of something peculiar. That would be due to his usage of a Mystic Eye. Always observing and collecting pieces of data on people, wondering how might they proceed.   If you were to get to know him, his heart is obviously sincere and simply kind. To his Lady, the Lord he is sworn to protect, he comes off rather charming in private. A Knight who knows how to be stern and yet, at the same time, display the handsome qualities of a refined gentleman ready to lay down everything in a single moment to do something.     Due to his origin, you could say, it is only natural.   “Loyalty and Servitude” play a role in the binding of one's self to another and by the definition of his occupation, he is sworn to the Head of the Animusphere. It's a difficult concept to explain, but you could surely understand that the nature of ”he must not show weakness in public, he mustn't have watering wavering thoughts; so he is bound to their name”.   In some sense of the fashion, because he's bound to a specific person, it would make infringing upon that mental faculty impossible. For he would never lay hand against his Lady or betray her in any regard. One is bou— oh, you get the gist. What, why are you still making me continue?

Mystic Codes

Faschl-Style: Knight
A Mystic Code designed in the fashion of a suit.   Tailored and properly produced and procured to befit the family's sole purposes. With the holder of current, or rather, wearer, being Duncan.   One could call it a "high-tier" Mystic Code, but in all actuality. It is undeserving of a rank and a simple concept.   The Mystic Code is designed to be the target of instantaneous transmutation by using the family's attribute of "Form". Ergo, giving “quality” to something. Upon transmutation, the Mystic Code shifts and becomes something more befitting of a Knight clad in full armor. Its durability is that of just armor before it is reinforced through the addition of Alchemical Means amplified by the concept of Astromancy's Enchantment boosting its durability to that of Ruby. Without the Enchantment from Astrology, the durability of the armor and procedural weapon that appears in his hand goes down to High-Emerald or Low-Topaz. That simply goes to show his skill.   The Mystic Code is meant to stabilize the effects it has and support the transmutation and various forms of enhancement as guessed. It gives him a sort of "knock-off-heroic-spirit-arms wielding warrior" type of vibe.   When the battle is done and over, or until he deems the armor unnecessary to adorn, it shifts back into its original form, unscathed. It's quite literally a “combat suit” designed for the full purposes of being manipulated by multiple forms of magecraft.
Faschl-Style: Observer
A Mystic Code that supports the usage of a “Mystic Eye”.   In some capacity, you could consider the use of a singular eye a demerit and you would be correct. The amount of information the Magus would have to process from two altered views would be vexing despite their ability to handle such. But due to the combative nature of the Magus, such minor defects cannot be afforded.   Thus, it is tailored to “support" the altered view of the Mystic Eye while in use. In other words, where normally one might have issues processing two forms of varying information on the visual scale, becomes mode easy and influences less strain.
Faschl-Style: Bladework
A simple blade.   An Amplifier-Type that supports one's usage of Elemental Affinity and Magecraft. In this case, it is meant to be used as a blade that displays “fiery-compassion”.   There is nothing special to it.
Faschl-Style: Miscellaneous
In addition to a combat suit, various other tailored Mystic Codes, though to a far more weaker effect, are procured for usage by Duncan. From one meant to have the proper appearance of a butler, to a simple house attire, and more.   These Mystic Codes are more or less meant to be worn in addition to the Main Mystic Code. An "overcoat" to disguise what goes on underneath.
