Backstory

Corbenik was the oldest child of the Calypso family, and the older sibling of Minerva and Valentina. The three came from a long line of witches who originated from Salem. He was supposed to be the next head of the family after transferring the mother’s magic crest to him, but their parents deemed him unfit. Their mother and father stabbed him with the ritual knife. Thinking that he is dead, they left his body in the forest. He wakes up some time later, and checks his stab wound. He notices they did not stab a vital organ. That was their big mistake, but it still hurt. He limps out of the forest, and is helped by a passerby before he passes out. After being nursed back to health, the man began to backpack around the world. After returning to his house, he meets Minerva and Valentina again. The two were happy to see their brother. The older sister told him what happened. She killed their parents to save the younger one, and became the family head. They agreed that while Corbenik is the actual family head, she will be the head while he wanders around again.

This is the kind of magecraft the Calypso family is the most proficient in. Due to this, Corbenik can do curses, medicine, and broom flight. Cursing Techniques (呪術, Jujutsu?). The common term given to the practices that one would expect from the traditional (and very clichéd) witches and shamans. Things that fall along the lines of potions, medicines, spirit exorcism and curses that use a material medium (ex: a straw doll). They have a strong presence within the Japanese supernatural world.

Broom Flight

Flight utilizing brooms is a form of mystery that is currently supported by the Magic Foundation - Black Magic section all over the world. It acts as a transportation method utilizing Magical Energy as fuel. There are different methods, such as the Jet Method that achieves maximum air speed transiently, and the low-cost Ether Sail method. The current new method of using brooms as transportation, the Anchor Attraction Ascension method designed by Touko Aozaki, a patented process also called "Touko Travel", involves planting a magical anchor at the destination to allow the magus to be pulled towards it much like being pulled by a retracting elastic band.

Corbenik is a cunning individual by all means, and tends to call people by whatever nicknames he comes up with. A man who lives for the moment, he often flirts with anyone. Men, women, he does not care. He genuinely cares for his sisters, and is protective of them. He speaks with a silver tongue, and whether his words are true or not is up in the air.

Due to his family’s proficiency in witchcraft, he can curse a person with a straw doll. Once he has a lock of the victim's hair and puts it into the doll, he now controls the body.
