Mechanics & Inner Workings
By using his Noble Phantasm, Luin of Celthar, Olyndicus can transform into Lugh & ignite the spear. By using the 2nd part of his NP, Lugh can use a command for the spear to fly at his opponent & use another command for it to return.
History
Areadbhar was a silver spear used by the Irish mythological figure Lugh, which he demanded as tribute from the Persian king Pisear. It is also believed to be the Lúin of Celtchar & spear of Assal. Wielded by various other heroes, such as Dubthach, Mac Cécht, Fedlimid, Olyndicus, & Saint Brigid of Kildare.
Significance
Areadbhar was one of the four treasures of the Tuatha Dé Danann, four magical items which the Tuatha Dé Danann are supposed to have brought with them from the four island cities Murias, Falias, Gorias, and Findias when they arrived in Ireland. Areadbhar, brought from Gorias, was a silver spear, whose speartip had to be kept submerged in water to prevent it from igniting. Supposedly no battle was ever sustained against it or against the man who held it, earning it the name, Slaughterer.
