At the age of 110, Lyra Bilar Kestrai, First Stormcaller of the Stormlords, and last of the Triumvirate, dies of old age, leaving behind an empire and a legacy of a united nation.

Lyra follows Irrhal and Accipiter into the Last Flight. Her memorial, combined with that of her lovers, is attended by all the nest lords in the Highlands, the Stormcaller Coven, and the entire Stormlord Council. Having formally transferred power to the Council six years before, she leaves behind a stable nation, and a proud people to carry on her legacy. The Highlands seem like a darker place than before, with the passing of the last of the Triumvirate.
