(Location) Vaclav

Vaclav is a city on the western coast of Farrah. It was originally built hanging from the roof of the enormous cavern bearing the same name. Clay buildings were built down from the ceiling and walkways were put between them. The city hangs over a large, sheltered bay that opens to the ocean.
Many ships come and go from here, cargo is raised and lowered on cranes operated by the 'ropemen'. Although the job is dangerous it is far preferable to carrying bulk cargo up and down the switchback stairs on the walls of the cavern. The bay is criss crossed with gangways and docks, allowing cargo to be lifted directly up into multiple corresponding warehouses on the ceiling.
As trade increased, the roof of the cavern proved too small to handle the city's growth. Additional suburbs were built on top of the cavern, under the sun. These quickly spread and soon more people lived above ground than under it. The rich citizens and old money of Vaclav still live in their cavern homes, 'looking down' on their poor, working class citizens above them.
The guards of the city have a tradition of wearing ceremonial bronze armour and providing officers with bronze daggers to mark their rank.
