Trails Day, 2nd Week Harvest Waning, 597th Year of the ScaleSitting in the back of the cart on the journey back to Fort Far View, Maximilia scribbles excitedly into her journal. Tasked with examining and cataloging the items the group collected after exploring deep within the tower, she carefully picks through each of the ancient weapons that were found in the Armory room while utilizing all she could recall from the books in the Emporium. "I never got to catalog weapons back home at the library!" she utters after finishing her Identify spell on the javelin she was holding in her hands. "Kitrah "KT" Topaz, this one was known as Jealousy's Kiss, though the origin of the name is lost on me. It seems to have some strong anti draconic properties to it. I don't have a dragon to test it on however...but look, when I hold it up I can feel a sort of pull pointing north, almost like a compass!"
Maxi then turns to Donegal and practically squees as she picks up the odd looking stone segmented javelin. "Oh and this one, I read this one was known as Stone Clacker! Exquisite craftsmanship, it feels so much lighter than it looks! Legend has it, it makes a cacophonous terrifying noise, I'd like to hear that!"
Maxi picks up the last javelin and turns to Calla Skýjadóttir. "And this one was called the Joyous Veil," she waves it around making "ooooooooooooh ahhhhhhhh" noises. "There are references to it's wielder appearing majestic and bringing calm to troubled realms and the weapon itself being able to change shape and appearance and oh gosh, I'm so glad to have been brought on this adventure with you all!"
"Are you sure yer a librarian little one? Ha! I saw you burnin' wolf fur with yer magicks! Ya survived the Tower twice now, more than I can say for a certain mug-headed dwarf!" Calla Skýjadóttir asks.
"When you work in a magical library, sometimes you must enforce the rules when people do not remain quiet! And our collection was enchanted against fire....."
Maxi picks up the dagger and makes some awkward stabbing and turning motions with it in the air. "@asha, Asha! You'll never guess what I found about this one! I think this is Felkands Folly. Some of the legends say that it's wielder Felkand could get into any room, but was intensely difficult when it came to sharing spoils. Oh I wish I could read more about them, they sounded like quite the character."
The Wardens continue friendly banter all the way home. The next morning . . . Donegal struts in to tavern fresh from training the day's watch before their shift. He sit up at the bar and signals Daphne. She looks Donegal up and down.
"It is far too early for you to be grinning like that!" Daphne Clearwater
"Doan know what ya mean? Can't I be appy to see yeh. hahahah, jess glad to home, didn't die on the road and got some new kit to boot. Ah'd love some breakfast if you ave it?"
The lass, yells back to Half-Wit Harvis and sets down across Don. She sips lightly on her tea expecting a tale.
"Well's we left and it was a rioght awful weather. Ad to deal with Mud and cranky animals. Awful stuff. But you ken Calla Skýjadóttir , rioght handy with making us a shelter so there we go sleepin and getting dry and what do you think sets upon us?
"Wolves?" Daphne guess.
"Right, Fecking wolves!! One big Bastard and her pups, I tink 5 or 6 in all. Well, axes flying, Fires coming out of wee Maximilia 's hands, Swords flashin', Kitrah "KT" Topaz blastin' and I tink Asha sleepin through the hole ting. Well, we made short werk of these baistes"
"Then we made our way to the Cliff Tower. Did you know that it is a massive Castle build into a cliff? Mad. Any way, Asha made quick work getting to the top and we were set upon by a Huge Manticore, right ugly bastards. We fought the creature and poor Maximilia was nearly kilt. We had to wait a day to make sure the poor lass recovered. Meanwhile, Calla Skýjadóttir split off and went looking for some Bear owl, owl bear. . .don't know. . .whatever dey are callt. After that Luvely rest, we went down into the Tower. Took a day exploring areas that the previous crew had cleared. hahahah. . . .Got to see Kitrah "KT" Topaz blush as there were some poetry on the cieling of a bedroom that would make Caelis Thyrion turn pink. Found some balconies using the Javelin that Kitrah "KT" Topaz borrowed from Mordain Bonebreaker . and saw that dere were two from areas we know and four on the other side. Then, back to sleep with our wee beasties we brought"
"Well we went back in the next day. . .straight to what we tink was an armory. . .Fecking Statue comes to liofe. . .Right terrifying creature . . . We startin on it. It let out a right stomp that made me slow to do anything. . ."
"How's that different from normal, Don?"
"HAHAHAHHA. . . rioght. Anyways, some little buggers pop our the walls and add to the fray. little metal bastards. Well, we fought hard, magicks flying, swords axes the whole deal and we beat all the bastards. After that we found tree javelins and a dagger all with fancy names Kitrah "KT" Topaz says"
"Well, Don, I for one am sad to see you return . . .it was so quiet with you gone." Daphne winks and heads to back and returns with his breakfast.
"Oh, I forgot, there is this passage that we found in the Armory that we nae had time to check out, rioght behind a table or something" Donegal ruminates while returning to his breakfast.
