Well this outing was a godsdamn disaster, no lie!We made good time to the Cliff Tower, only one night was blighted by an attack by a pack of wolves. They must've been hungry to attack such a large party as us...or maybe Goldbroad's Tiny Hut blocked our scent but the scent of our pack animals was another matter! Something to remember. Anyway, the new girl...the librarian Maxi, held her own. Even burnt a few with her magics.
When we got to the Cliff Tower, all apeared normal and sedate. Asha scaled the outer wall, easy-peasy like, and disappeared over the other side. All going well, just like we wanted. Then!...
Asha called out, danger was upon her and suddenly two manitcores were flying out of the tower! Cripes!
Me and Goldbroad made haste, Maxi and Topaz guarding the rear. Well, Manitcores be a bit more nasty than wolves and Maxi took to fright. She best get over that and soon!
Those manticore were about ready to dive at Asha again but Goldbroad cast some stinky cloudy and managed to get one of them sick from it. However, the other manticores was still flyin' down into the Tower to get at Asha, and me and Goldbroad were so far from the tower—even then we'd have to do lots of climbing to clear the top. Trouble for Asha!
As we was runnin' I had Goldbroad cast Dimension Door and we popped to inside the tower without any fuss. Thats when things turned to crap on a stick.
I leapt at one of the beasties and flung in off the tower...it had wings so that move was dumb. Especially since I almost went over the side myself. Not yet. I climbed up and tried getting to Goldbroad and Asha but now was the time I got was flung off the tower. By that damn manitcore from earlier.
I barely had a moment, clinging to the cliff wall, before my fingers slipped and I was falling like a rain drop. Would've made a splash on the ground like one too. But guess what? Topaz and Asha came flyin' after me and saved my once-died hide!
Another lesson: harvest from the dead beasties and brew them into potions.Why? Because just before we left the Fort, Asha had finished her potions of Flying and we took 'em on our lil' adventure.
Rewards Granted
A couple more seasons of life for the Cleric of Sobarr, that ol' chewed-up shoe leather, Mordain.
