Theodrogo's recollection on the morning of the adventure: "At the crack of dawn, Theodrogo, riding Arrow, heads into the fort plaza. Although he has just returned from an adventure he is eager to set out again, as the way of the Arrow of Yaneb is to explore, learn, and bring Their Word to new lands and people. He is eager to again visit the Nilevians, and seek out the mysteries of the crypt nearby, guarded by those beak snakes that Yaneb saw fit to grant him visions about. Indeed, his dreams of late have become repetitive and ominous, and he wonders if his presence in these lands—bringing death to so many creatures and an unwanted and incomprehensible presence to many more—is truly Yaneb’s will. He ponders Yaneb’s path and plans as he awaits he fellow adventurers: Mordain Bonebreaker, Goldbroad, and Orryn Surefoot." Quick Synopsis: The group heads out to a cave, rumored to be an opening to a crypt, that sits in the hills above the Nivelian Village. During their travel to the Village, the group comes across a half-elf by the name of Kitrah Topaz, or "KT" if needs be. She's a graceful and strong warrior with a hatred of the undead--one could say an extreme hatred, and would not be wrong on that count. When the Heroes reached the outskirts Nivelian Village, they stopped by Met and Wil on the orders of Chief Centurion Gil. Their orders were to instruct the Heroes to not enter the Village at this time. The Heroes gave gifts in an attempt to smooth things over but Met and Wil insisted the Heroes continue on their way.
The Heroes moved on and eventually made their way up the hills on narrow trail that wound precariously along a steep drop-off. They beat back an attack by a pack of beak-snakes before they reached a plateaued ridge that was at least 80 or 100 feet wide and about half as many deep. It was here that the Heroes were attacked again by beak snakes but this time the serpents were joined by a few even larger and meaner beak-snakes.
Just as the Heroes had turned the tide of the battle and on the verge of routing the beak-snakes, the Mother of Snakes burst onto the scene. After a slogging, drag-out fight in which the Mother Snake gave as much as she took, the Heroes managed to slay her and end the battle.
