2022/11/26: Defeat of the Clockwork Spider

Asha, Trasher, Caelis and Rawl the Maul were beaten back by a large clockwork spider automaton during a previous foray into the Cliff Tower's Library. They have bolstered their squad with the addition of the irrepressible Goldbroad the Bard and the stout dwarf Mordain Farforge. The Heroes battled their way into the Library of the Cliff Tower and were once again attacked by the mechanical spider. Rawl the Maul proved to be inadequate to the task when he was overcome and paralyzed by the spider's eye ray. The rest of the heroes used tactics, teamwork, and perseverance to defeat the automaton.

"We have these 5 rather exquisite art pieces, one of which is Rawl’s share. And Goldie and I thought the inlayed dragon skull will make a nice accoutrement to the tavern, leaving three to split amongst us for value. The wealth of knowledge found is the true bounty here and rich beyond belief. First there are 10 magical scrolls we will need to study. Then there are the non magical writings: a 12 volume history of the Meni; 4 volumes of entitled The full rights and rituals of the Valgamis 8 stations of the sun; 3 volumes of forge upkeep and instructions (I could practically feel Mordain stiffen in his breeches when we found that The Celestarium, a 7 volume set on constellations; Construct Assembly Manuals (think if we could construct our own automatons to aid Mordain’s militia in the defense of the fort! Nedesma House Uthos, who I believe are the former lords of the tower have a many (17?) volume set of their Clan Compendium; and crucially a set of Meni Translation Tomes for Elven, Draconic, Dwarven, and Valgamis!"
