2019/10/21: Cave explored

General Summary

From the journal of Asha: I have completed an initial drawing of the mosaic that we found in the strange cave we explored. It is incomplete as I got only a short look at it and cannot entirely recall its details. However, future expeditions may allow us to improve its accuracy.   Asha

I recall that the images showed many phases of the moon but the only phase I can recall for sure was the impossible crescent turned on it's side in what appeared to be the third panel of the design.     What other details have entirely escaped me... I am uncertain.   From the journal of Theodrogo, Paladin of Yaneb (Entry 1): Yaneb has revealed another facet of these strange Far View lands in my recent wanderings...the bane of the undead. Decrepit creatures that mock the blessings of life. We came upon many of them as we made our way to a cave my companions were interested in exploring, but by the grace of Yaneb and the powers they have seen fit to bestow upon me I was able to turn a number of them from our party, and we were able to dispatch the rest with relative ease....the next day we came across the same foul undead I had turned earlier and many more, and though I turned some again, it mattered not as they were all soon attacked and the holy magic dissipated. I then found myself surrounded by no less than seven of them, clawing and gnashing at my armor as a holy barrier between them and the rest of the party. At times like that I feel the power of Yaneb the greatest—Sometimes I Feel As Though I've Been Blessed, Because I'm Doing What I Want So I Never Rest. I dispatched some as my companions returned to assist with the monsters. We arrived at the cave where we witnessed more of the strange Kobolds we had seen earlier—though they appeared confused and failed to respond to my entreaties in their native dialect, they also apparently passed by us in the night and deigned not to attack us—out of fear, respect, or loathing I know not, but perhaps they are not evil after all, and may yet bear witness to the truths of Yaneb. When we entered the cave we came across more abominations—animated skeletons this time. I vow that I will uncover the source of the foul magic animating these affronts to Yaneb, and cleanse these lands of it.   From the journal of Theodrogo, Paladin of Yaneb (Entry 2): On these most recent fast days, my mind repeatedly wandered during the day's prayers and turned to speculations concerning the crypts we recently explored. The mosaic of the ships in this tomb of Blackstensius, for example, did not the Yanebmen arrive by ships to this continent long ago? And the mosaic from the other tomb, the one of the battle with the horseman in the foreground—were not the Yanebmen the first to bring horses to these lands, which they used to assist my Dragonborn ancestors defeating the Orcs? And as for Orcs, it is known that they once hunted the blood of Yanebmen to create magic blades that cut through dragon scales like the softest butter—magic blades very much like this one I earned for my part in our recent battle against the undeads' master. And the transformation of a person into a dragon depicted in the mosaic in the crypt of Blackstensius, is this not similar to the miracle of Dwyar, may Yaneb bless her name, who also transformed into a dragon to effect Yaneb's will? There is much to reflect upon…and I can't, I won't, and I don't stop thinking about these similarities between past and present...
