Lazgar

Lazgar is a Halric brawler with a storied past—a barrel-chested powerhouse who thrives on raw strength, unyielding determination, and a dash of reckless bravery. Born in Quintis’ Folly, a rugged settlement south of Quint’s Wall, Lazgar grew up amidst a hardy and diverse population. His Halric heritage—a blend of Human and Orcish ancestry—blessed him with a physique made for battle and a fiery temperament that made him a natural-born fighter. Yet, it also burdened him with the weight of stereotypes and prejudice, challenges he learned to confront with his fists rather than his words.

In his youth, Lazgar became something of a local legend in Quintis’ Folly. From dominating organized fighting rings to participating in the local tradition of boar wrestling, his feats of strength earned him admiration and respect. But the quiet life of his hometown could never fully satisfy his thirst for adventure. Determined to prove himself beyond the shadow of the wall, Lazgar left Quintis’ Folly behind and ventured to South Port, seeking excitement and a chance to make a name for himself.

In the bustling chaos of South Port, Lazgar’s reputation grew quickly. Whether in tavern disputes, street brawls, or underground fighting rings, his name became synonymous with ferocity and victory. Yet, beneath his rough exterior lay a personal code of honor: Lazgar never raised his fists against the defenseless and always stood up for those who couldn’t protect themselves. This sense of justice, though often delivered through broken noses and battered egos, earned him grudging respect even from those who feared his strength.

It was during one of these displays of righteous chaos that Lazgar crossed paths with Captain Asreel. In a crowded South Port tavern, a gang of thugs harassed the barkeep, only to find themselves on the receiving end of Lazgar’s formidable fists. Tables were overturned, mugs went flying, and the thugs were unconscious before they could draw their weapons. Witnessing his raw power and unflinching sense of justice, Asreel offered him a place aboard the Crimson Outcast. For Lazgar, the promise of adventure on the high seas and a chance to fight injustice on a grander scale was irresistible.

Aboard the Crimson Outcast, Lazgar’s role is as straightforward as his approach to life: he is the muscle, the first to step into danger when conflict arises. His combat skills are unparalleled, and his mere presence often serves as a deterrent to potential threats. Yet, for all his ferocity in battle, Lazgar is a loyal and surprisingly affable crewmate. His bellowing laughter, booming voice, and endless supply of outrageous tales make him a beloved figure aboard the ship, even if his fiery temper occasionally lands them in trouble.

Beneath the brawler’s exterior lies a man deeply proud of his Halric heritage and the resilience it represents. For Lazgar, every fight won and every oppressor defeated is a victory not just for himself but for all those who have been overlooked, underestimated, or oppressed. His loyalty to Captain Asreel and the crew is unwavering, and his relentless spirit ensures that wherever the Crimson Outcast sails, its enemies will always have reason to fear.
