In reaction to some unknown galactic stimulus, the sun jolted and sent immense waves of energy and magic into space. They hit the planet and struck certain individuals to their core. (don't ask lol) This imbued them with magic between their cells, enabling them to perform unrivalled magical feats, should they figure out how. These people became known as the True Gods.
