Biography
Xol-ochi had always been enamored by religion and the stories told within it. They worshipped Talxili’s cyclical, ever-powerful spirit and the selfless sacrifice he embodied; they admired Xochi’s eternal tranquility and willpower; they idolised Aria’s wisdom, intelligence, and perseverance. And they dreamed constantly of the lush green forests and rushing rivers of the River Valley their gods and saints were from. They took the Arid throne in 1983 at the age of 17. In their opinion, the Arids had been stagnating for some time. They had lived in the same area of the same desert for generations, and though supplies were steady, nothing new was happening. No glory was being gained. No history was being made. Soon after taking charge, they had all the tribes gather as many resources as they could, and moved everyone north. Toward the River Valley. After much travel and strife in an oppressive desert which swung back and forth between brutal sandstorms and unbearable heat, they came upon the Inverted Tower, or to them, a strange stout cylinder sticking out of the dunes. Inside Xol-ochi led a band of brave souls down a seemingly infinite winding staircase and set of elevators, along the way discovering all manner of strange and mystical writings and contraptions. At last they found a cryogenically frozen Aria, and opened the machine to resurrect them. Xol-ochi “befriended” Aria as much as Aria would allow. They tripped over themself making sure Aria was comfortable and not too disappointed by what their people had become. (Aria, for what it’s worth, could never get past how the Lizards had named themselves after them.) (more info) They went with Aria to Viraloc when Sgaire was collecting Gods to break Taiga out of his Tower, and were in awe and shock of the magnificence of Taiga’s metropolis. (more)Writings
Xol-ochi was by no means a professional author but they produced a large body of journal entries and personal essays documenting their faith and opinions about those they encountered. (here a hyperlinked list of their writings)
