Rompus

Rompus is a variant of the old Orc tradition Festival of Romp; a discontinued event after the establishment of the new Warchief Astralshaper - who was seen as untouchable and inaccessible to Orcs. It is the national sport of the Meridian of Stars' Eternal, established on 2.35R in response to citizen complaints to uncontrolled Orcish frustrations among the Meridian, post Astralshaper's ascent to Warchief.   Originally the sport was on a much smaller scale and only Orcs partook in it. It was viewed with varying levels of disgust and disdain during the early rotations, but slowly gained traction outside of the Orcs as illusionary magic became more widely available and allowed for the remote viewing of the tournaments across the Meridian. The first non-Orc to join in a Rompus tournament was @Valsor on 23.12R and who, today; is still held in high regards to this very rotation, and set the standard for other races to partake in the sport. Now the sport has become widely regarded as a staple in the Meridian, celebrated universally by nearly all races with multiple tournaments and matches happening during a rotation. With its acceptance into society and reverance among the population, the final match of the rotation is held during Evening in the @Testosterodome. This is deliberately put into place by Astralshaper as it distracts many of the citizens from the horrors of the Evening Star and the ever-changing magical dangers it brings outside the safety of the Anchors.

Key Components and Items

RompRock - Per tradition of the Festival of Romp, the start of the festival was to signified by the Warchief defecating in the middle of the field that it was to take place at. As Astralshaper does not partake in this tradition, the previous Warchief before her was tasked with this dubious honor during the first hosted Rompus match. His feces has since been preserved and deemed "RompRock" for its size and tough composition. It is customary for RompRock to be carried onto the field between cheeks by the winning Chief Beef of the previous rotation and dropped onto the field to signify the start of the match. The carrier does vary depending on if the previous Chief Beef is participating in the match.   Sock - A sock is a leather ball attached with a high-quality rope at the top. There are eight socks in play on the field at any point. When a match starts there are three War Beef on each team that respectively holds one sock attached to their team outfit. The other two socks are to be placed in the middle of the field.   Team Outfit - A backwards loin-cloth with a teams identifying colors and/or identifiers. Socks are attached to the side of the team outfit.
