Niam
Biography
Overview
Niam was one of the original four officer cadets selected to lead the newly formed First Northern Fusiliers. Although his tactical skills were not the most inspired of the new young officers, it was recorded that he was well liked and trusted by his men, had a knack for effectively delegating responsibilities to the right people, and had a strong impact on the sometimes fragile morale of the early unit. In addition, due to being paired up with the, at the time, insolent and incompetent Cormac, he became an expert defensive battle tactics and delaying actions to buy time out of necessity to preserve his force for as long as possible while handicapped with a liability when faced with the more competent teams of his peers in exercises. Niam's family is native to the area around the city of Nenagh, once one of the most important cities on the island, before it was captured by Greenskin forces. The city has been recaptured by Southern Forces loyal to King Nicolai, but both its population and industry are still devastated from the occupation. Niam's family were loyal vassals of the old lord of the city, Finbar, and will follow where he leads, although they have no desire to fight in a civil war and trust that the good natured Finbar is the same.
