Environmental Effects

Throughout many settings (including this one) there are frequently a wide variety of environmental effects. These can range from simple things such as a cliff, or more exotic such as pools of lava. GMs should have some flexibility on how these sometimes play out, but I have listed some basic effects below.   Fall Damage- For every 10 ft a character falls they take 1d6 of bludeoning damage   Difficult Terrain- Unstable rocky surfaces, steep muddy hills, and dense thickets are examples of difficult terrain. When using a Move Action, characters may only move 1/2 their movement speed. If they attempt to move their full movement speed, they must make a DC 15 DEX Save or become Entangled or Prone (GM's discretion).   Lava Pool- Making contact with a pool of lava deals 10d6 fire damage, but if a character spends a round in it they are automatically dead.   Acid Pool- Making contact with a pool of acid deals 2d6 acid damage immediately. For 1d4 rounds thereafter the character takes 1d6 acid damage.
Environmental Effects and Weapons
Characters may sometimes wish to dip their weapons in these environmental effects (and others) to gain additional damage. To do so requires an Action to dip the weapon, and it may be used 3 times with the additional damage. Both Fire and Acid deal an additional 1d6 damage.
