The Gunners are declared Terrorists by the Commonwealth Federal Republic and the minutemen and state militias are mobilized to deal with the threat, the war is the first time the minutemen get to test their mettle against an evenly matched foe and they do so with flying colors, redeeming them for their previously failures in protecting Quincy.
