Session 40: Back to Buisness
General Summary
The session began in Vantage the night after the player's impromptu rager. Kenny had woken up early, doing his best to shake off the residual effects of the demon blunt he shared with Alexandru. He went and woke up Barry who was sleeping at the counter in the mess hall. He geared up with a new suppressed .45, a tranq gun, a more practical camo uniform, and proper equipment, including a medkit. Meanwhile, Kutter and Quinten awoke in the mess hall as Jason leisurely came downstairs in his bathrobe sipping coffee after a goods night rest. They all saw Grug the chef seemingly dead, they were unable to find a pulse even with Doc's help but he eventually came to, knocking down shelves in the kitchen. As the chaos abided the players assembled their chosen units to go on the northern front. They brought Doc's Charlie Squad for infantry, Jeremy and his Marksmen, Kutter's Blades, and the Gorillas. Soon after the Navy Corps's vertibirds arrived shuttling the players out to sea and to the massive flagship of Admiral Longfellow, bristling with artillery and vertibird pads.
They sailed north for a day and a half then got briefed by Longfellow. He informed them of the situation, his half of the fleet was to chase the retreating northern half of the red tide fleet. He said intel suggested the remnant force was attempting to resupply by taking men and troops from the remote villages of northern Malden and southern Marino and while he and his ships pursued the fleeing ships The Liberators would live up to their name and save these villages from the occupying enemy ground forces. The Liberators devised a plan of attack: first, they would deploy the Gorillas as an independent force, simply telling them to fight like hell and meet the main force near Far Harbor, next, they and the remaining teams would work through the villages one by one, they could deploy together or separately but for their first objective, they would deploy their forces together so they could size up the enemy with minimal risk.
With that, they departed. Kutter dropped off the Gorillas giving them the rendezvous and a flare gun in case they needed help. All the Liberators then deployed apart from Jason and Blair who were requested for help aboard the ship. They landed several miles south of the southernmost village in the AO, Kenny and Quinten decided to scout ahead, and Alexandru to their surprise asked to join. The three headed north being cautious of patrols until they reached the town. Kenny and Alexandru took positions in the low branches of nearby trees to scout out the village. They saw the occupying force with a few hostages in the middle of the street, they also saw in the far building another group in some kind of standoff with the red tide raiders. Alexandru also spotted an invisible opponent hiding out in a nearby church. A shot rang out and Kenny deflected a bullet back towards the church. They had been spotted. Alexandru and Kenny moved in as the rest moved into position. Kenny jumps out of the tree and to the general store in the center of town. Alexandru sprinted over 100 feet, leaping onto an adjacent house and into the church window, unleashing a flurry of attacks out of sight of the players and knocking the Nightkin into his own giant collection of booby traps, the entire church detonated and Alexandru went flying out, landing gracefully on the roof of the nearby house. Kenny meanwhile climbed up the general store and jumped down the chimney. He flew across the room soot enveloping him and trailing behind him as he brutally killed the machine gunner and threw his body at his loader, causing all the remaining men in the store to flee.
The infantry and Kutter's blades caught up, May led the infantry in Blair's absence, commanding them to stay as she cleared out a storage depot on her own with brutal efficiency. Quinten on the right flank went into the bar by the shore and started shooting at some drunk raiders, however, one shot went off course hitting one of the men hunkered down in the town hall. May set up outside the general shop and crushed a fleeing raider. May picked up one of the raider's bodies and threw him into the town square, showing the entrenched townsfolk that they weren't Red Tide. However, an explosion went off on the far side of the town hall and shots rang out in the building.
The Liberators rushed to assist. Kenny ran in first, barely avoiding being shot by a nervous teenager watching the door with a shotgun. Kenny ran into action quickly followed by Alexandru and then the rest. Alexandru fought just outside Kenny's sight but Kenny saw flashes of purple as he shredded enemy nightkin. Kenny moved into the kitchen to assist the settlers, clearing the room but he was ambushed by a nightkin in the corner. Alexandru somehow saw him and took over, beating the nightkin into the wall. Screams rang out from upstairs RM and Kutter ran up the stairs to help. Alexandru jumped up to the 2nd story and began throwing hands with a nightkin in the corner, though he was thrown down the stairwell a few times he eventually beat him. Downstairs Kenny and the settlers were ambushed by another nightkin who breached through the wall, grappling Kenny attempting to "recruit" him to the Red Tide. Back upstairs four raiders had the women and children held hostage, Alexandru demanded Kutter and RM go help downstairs, Kutter complied, but RM hesitated. As she looked down towards Kutter asking where he was going, Alexandru vanished. Alexandru now invisible tore through the enemy combatants. After the blood had settled, the settlers looked at him in fear, but he convinced them it was just shock. Outside the enemy forces were slowly pushed back by Jericho and the troops. The full party took on the last nightkin, freeing Kenny and eventually taking him prisoner. As the dust settled the players talked about what they saw. Kutter didn’t see much but grew suspicious as Kenny mentioned the purple flashes. Kenny brushed it off, but Kutter confronted Alexandru who was holding a dinky pipe pistol as some sort of alibi. When pressed Alexandru gave him a look that stabbed into Kutter's soul, and Kutter remembered what fear was. After that, RM talked with Kutter about what she had seen, insisting they needed to keep an eye on him.

Went to hard with Alexandru, ultimately ruined the reveal because I wanted to have some fun, should've played RM or May but should've would've could've.
