Session 15: No Escape and No Flags

General Summary

The session began as Kenny and Leroy got back up in the ghoul-infested funhouse. They had retrieved the Star Core but were trapped as the entrance became inaccessible, forcing them to fight their way out. The players fought through the twisting maze full of ghouls and eventually escaped. During their escape, Kenny caught a glimpse of a mysterious hooded figure.   They journeyed to No Flag to finally get back on the case of The Marauders. There, they met various quirky characters: a hippie commune, some traders and enterprising adventurers, prospectors, and a group of motorized nomads whom they never spoke to. They had a confrontation with some of the hippies, trying to extort information from them by force. RM used a recall code on one of them who lived openly as a synth. They were able to de-escalate the situation when they realized that just because the hippies believed in communal living, it didn't mean they were pacifists.   The players stayed for a week, gathering information and doing downtime activities. Notably, Kenny worked in a diner, honing his cooking skills to become a master, and Leroy studied under an armorer. Eventually, they headed north to The Marauders' alleged location east of them on the cliffs. They headed up a canyon to make their way onto the upper shelf, leaving Chokehold and the animals behind to watch their six and act as backup.   They kidnapped a sentry on the edge of the enemy camp and interrogated him. His name was Vance, and after a tense start, he was able to win over the players, saying that The Marauders were happy to have them. They entered the camp and met Ellie, who had a rough reunion with RM, her sister. The players split up and tried to integrate themselves into the camp to suss out The Marauders' character. Kenny failed to help Ellie fix her car, Kutter went to help some guys hunt, and Leroy found another armorer to study under.
