Session 10: Redfall
General Summary
The session began with Kutter and Jason breaching the Red Tide hideout. Slowly, the others trickled in, and the goons quickly surrendered. After this, the siege met a roadblock as the Minutemen had no way to reach the mayor's office in the announcer's box, so the players rested while the Minutemen repaired the elevator. During this slumber in a grateful family's house, they had strange dreams of their pasts, presents, and futures.
Kenny dreamt of his master before the war, who told him he had great plans for him. Kutter dreamt of his tribe, which was slowly whittled down by their violent raids, then of a new tribe he had found in his friends. Gerrek dreamt of his home way north in Malden being engulfed by the flames of war, and then the scorched bones of all his comrades resting in the white ash surrounding him. Fisto performed a maintenance protocol, experiencing errors and existential questions: "Error: This unit was not programmed to feel, Error: This unit feels, Error: Defining Feeling, Error: Define this unit. Error: Define purpose, Error: What is this unit's purpose?" Jason dreamt of his long walk across the desert after his initial mutation, the heat bearing down on him until he lost control of his faculties, becoming a raging behemoth.
Finally, they awoke. They took point, clearing out the reception for the mayor's office and allowing the secretary, Roxanne, to leave. Then, along with Jamison, RM, Akira, and Tony, they stepped into Victor Hawthorne's office. He implored them to lay down their weapons, claiming he was operating to save Diamond City, not destroy it, and that should he be killed, a much worse fate would befall it. He said that if the players would only join him, all would be revealed. The players refused, and combat commenced. Hawthorne drew two Thompson SMGs, and his power-armored guards protected him with massive ballistic shields.
Eventually, with Jamison's help, the power-armored guards were defeated, and the Red Baron pulled out his ace. He injected himself with a strange serum, turning instantly into a hulking super mutant. With an axe that fell from the ceiling, he ruthlessly attacked the party but was eventually defeated. When he tried to detonate the building, Kutter tackled him out the window, with Kenny following shortly. As Hawthorne lay dead in the street, Kenny and Kutter celebrated barbarically on his body.
