The Dark Star

The elves. What can be said about them? You can love them or hate them, your choice. But let me tell you what I over heard a few of their Dragon Prince's officers going on about when  they were here last summer helping us kick those Lashitan scum in the teeth.
These elves went on about how the light elves, these being the star worshipping ones have within a heretical sect. Now you see mostly the  light elves pray  to their seven stars which ever they may be. This is where they get their seven knightly orders of holy knights from. Right scary bastards they are. Yet they would all whisper about this eighth star, the dark star that consumes all other stars. Now some think the heretics started this from seeing one of those times, what the fancy word is I forget, when something passes in front of the sun during the day and makes a ring of fire. 
What these dark star folk do is ruin their looks. All elves regardless of being light, grey or dark are fair, bright and beautiful. If you like their pointy eared look. These dark star folk stain their skin the deepest black they can get, trying for the look of fired glass, that shiny black rock color. They stain their entire body from head to toe, expect for little silvery marks, so that their skin looks like the night sky. These are the faithful followers. It's the clergy that take it further and have around their belly holes a fiery ring tattooed to show the dark star consuming all.
But how can there be any of these dark star folk? You would think all the other elves would just kill them on the spot. They with their markings would stand out like a turd on a white sheet. Like I said, it's what I overheard some of the elf officers chatting about. Maybe they had a few too many of Young Bron's winning ale from the last tournament faire. You know how elves can't handle their ale very well. Now be a good girl, fetch me another round and ask Lady Charlotte to sing her bawdy harlot song.
