Blodyn llachar tanllyd

In the northern reach of the Sea of Spilled Wine there is the twin peninsula of the boots and the isles of slippers. At the fall of the empire the western boot became the Republic, who quickly expanded taking nearly the entirety of the peninsula. A large portion of the eastern boot was taken by the newly formed Julian Protectorate. In the middle, caught like a fawn between two wolves were several mini states. On a larger sun drenched slipper island, that has hot springs is the realm of Blodyn llachar tanllyd Queen of the fire faeries.
Blodyn llachar tanllyd, a trooping faerie of the unseelie court while sitting in her palace looked out over the steamy waters and observed the forces of both the Republic and Julian Protectorate fighting. Ships of both sides beached upon her island and made war upon each other. Unfortunately both sides also attacked the faeries. Blodyn llachar tanllyd would have none of this and sent her retainers with their soldiers to end the incursion.

Blodyn llachar tanllyd sent the survivors of the Republic and Protectorate fleeing. The Protectorate chose to leave the island in peace. On the other hand the Republic being closer went for full annexation.
The Republic sent a full legion to the island. The cohorts quickly spread out and took over key locations. Notably the palace.

Blodyn llachar tanllyd began a partisan resistance to sow fear and discontent in the Republic legion. Small gestures; food stores set afire, patrols ambushed, officers assassinated within the camps. Others slipped poisons into the meals fed to the legion or caused a constant stream of discomforts.  
Blodyn llachar tanllyd finally had to plan ready and gathered her forces to entice the legion to attack. The trap was sprung. For months the faeries had slowly heated the subsurface water to boiling and held  the steam in a super heated state with a fae containment. When the legion marched across the field it was released and the ground underneath  the legion exploded sending them flying. Those that survived were  stripped of their armor and weapons, branded and sent back to the Republic to tell  the tale of their defeat. 
Now Blodyn llachar tanllyd is left in peace with her people, to trade and enjoy life as it may come.
