The Xanyr species evolved from some unknown arthropod species on the planet Le'k 80 light years away from the quarantine zone. When the human empire found the species, they had already attained the capacity to travel among the stars. The Empire decided to interfere in the inner workings of the Xanyr peoples, to better suit their agenda.

Roughly fifty years after the initial meeting of Human and Xanyr, the Human-backed Xanyr collective rose against the rest of its brethren to wrest control, most of the other Xanyr clutches were made extinct.
The excessive genetic modifications to the collective had evolved them beyond the rest of the species as a whole.
