Guild
Guild
You may choose to be part of a guild in your downtime . A single character can only be in one guild. A guild could be an order of paladins, the city guard, a cartel of thieves, circle of druids, group of rangers, or anything you can think of. As a member of a guild you may choose from two different rolls as described below.
When you first start/join a guild you start at the 'Unknown notoriety' level. As you roll on the guild table you will earn 'renown points' to increase your notoriety. All benefits from your notoriety level are cumulative. Be sure to keep up with the number of renown points you have.
Notoriety Table
Notoriety | Benefits | Renown Points Required to Advance | Max Number of Guild Assets | Dues |
---|---|---|---|---|
Unknown | None | 4 | 1 | 10 gp |
Recommended; Level 1 | Create a new title for yourself or this position. You gain a Follower of 1st level if you don’t have one already and can always recruit one in their place at no cost of downtime (your follower also act as 1 employee for business table rolls, see 'Choosing your roll' below). Synergy - If another player character belongs to your guild you gain a +1 to your guild role. | 8 | 2 | 60 gp |
Respected; Level 2 | Your Follower gains a +1 magic item of your choice (item cannot be given to the primary character). Create a new title for yourself or this position. Any gold you gain from the Guild Table is multiplied by your Notoriety Level. | 12 | 3 | 110 gp |
Acclaimed; Level 3 | Create a new title for yourself or this position. A Favor Asked - If you do not already have a total number of Assets equaling your Notoriety level then you can make one DC 15 roll modified based on your total assets + Renown Level to commission up to 1 Asset from an ally in Ambervale in conjunction with your Downtime Activity once per session. | 16 | 4 | 160 gp |
Honorable; Level 4 | Create a new title befitting royalty or one of adjacent status, if you weren’t the leader of this Guild then you are now. Highest Respect - You always have at least 1 Asset at your disposal at the start of every session. Lifestyle expenses cut in half. You can choose to turn any renown rewards into asset rewards on the Guild Table. | N/A | 5 | 210 gp |
Choosing your roll
When you choose to spend your downtime week with your guild you can make one of two rolls:
1) You may make a roll on the guild table to gain social standing or possibly gain an assets (groups of people willing to do your bidding). Assets might be a group of mercenary fighters, a band of thieves, a circle of druids, loyal knights, and so on.
2) Alternatively you may choose to roll on the business table as a guild for half of the gain or loss results.
Guild Roll
1) Pay a lifestyle cost to gain a modifier 2) Roll a d20 on the Guild table.Odd results require you to pay dues based on your Notoriety. Putting your guild into a building that also contains a player business increases the amount of any profit you make on the guild table and is also beneficial to any business that operate out of the same building. See Buildings for more information. Multiply any gold made by the guild table by x2 if your guild shares a building with a player business .

Business Roll
You can direct all guild activities for that week to focus on making some money. Instead of rolling on the guild table you can roll on the business table for 1/2 of the profit or loss. You can buy assistants like any other business. Your business size will correlate to the building the guild meets in like a business would.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
