Proficiency with a greataxe allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it. Greataxes deal 1d12 slashing damage on a hit.
Heavy. Creatures that are Small or Tiny have disadvantage on attack rolls with greataxes. A greataxe's size and bulk make it too large for a Small or Tiny creature to use effectively.
Two-Handed. This weapon requires two hands when you attack with it.
