Order of The Ever Vigilant
Monastic Order
The Order of The Ever Vigilant is a mysterious and almost mythical Monastic order. That said, it turns up in many legends and tales from throughout time, which baffles those who have heard of it even more as to their purpose, history and origins. It is not unusual for there to be a reference to them, or their Monastery, turning up in an ancient and eons lost book, seemingly placing the Monastery in one place, only to then find reference to it being located somewhere else entirely. Expeditions have been sent by the curious, only to end in failure to find any sign of this "Monastery of The Ever Vigilant". Even stranger, and something that has further added to its Mysterious, is that it has even been referred to have being seen on other Spheres of the material realm.
For these reasons, many regard it as fictional, and those that believe it exists pursue knowledge of it with an almost fanatical exuberance. Those scholars who have tried to compile information on it have gathered only that it seems that their Monastery can actually travel throughout the material realm and even throughout the planes somehow. As to the Orders purpose, and what they are vigilant for, they have only managed to piece together disjointed scraps and supposed quotes such as "The old ones" and "the starspawn". And as for what they will do, or intend to do when they find what they seek, is entirely a mystery.
Public Agenda
Unclear. The Monastic order talks of being vigilant and watchful, but give very little indicator for what it is that must be watched for. When pushed, the most they will say is "The Old Ones" or perhaps they may mutter something about "The starspawn". Whatever it is that they watch for, they seem very afraid of ever finding it.

A little is known of this, however it is still mostly conjecture and made up of scraps of information taken from ramblings in ancient books and drunken tales.
It is said that many of this Order are able to harness the power of the sun, whilst other stories talk of no such thing, but just of creatures able to fight with incredible speed and accuracy. It is from these mixed reports that scholars believe that The Vigilant use various different techniques that other monastery's would usually specialize in just one. There has never been a reference however to the shadow techniques, or indeed the drunken techniques of some Orders."
