Monastery of The Ever Vigilant

This mysterious monastery is seemingly able to travel throughout the astral sea to other Planes and Spheres, and is home to The Order of The Ever Vigilant. It turns up in texts throughout recorded history and even legends, myths, and cave drawings from before the written word. Where and when it does appear, it seems that the monks within it are harmless and usually trade exciting and exotic goods such as works of art, literature, music and little books of poems and wisdom, with the local towns and travelers in return for basic supplies.

The Monastery is led by Master Throom, a strange and alien creature that is regardless seemingly kind and generous, if not sometimes a little presumptuous and prone to words of wisdom that are unclear as to their meaning or even if they relate at all.

History

Unknown other than that is seems to appear throughout the written, verbal and pictorial history of many Spheres in the material realm

Architecture

Wherever the Monastery appears, it always seems to have a pathway of swords from throughout the realms leading to it, with chains linking the swords. The Monastery itself is a multi tiered building, made of various materials, but mostly wood, bone and cured leather. In the centre of the monastery is a large courtyard with a beautiful pond that surrounds the training square where the monks practice their martial arts. There are some blossom trees and Zen gardens also in the Courtyard and directly connected to it are the chambers of the monasteries Master. These chambers are made up of 3 interconnecting rooms, separated only by paper slides. On the left is a washroom, on the right a bedroom, and in the centre is the prayer and sitting room.

The Monastery also has a number of smaller buildings and temples set slightly aside from the main building. These are mostly temples and are decorated like the Monastery proper, with prayer wheels, gongs and incense burners. There are many gardens in the Monastery, where the monks like to quietly tend to the plants in a kind of reflective and contemplative meditation.

The Monastery tends to appear in out of the way places; atop mountains, in the middle of dense forests and jungles, in the middle of the ocean, etc.
