1 - Lost Mines of The Umbra Seraph

Lost Mines of Phandelver

The Adventurer's will play the Lost Mines of Phandelver campaign until the Wave Echo Cave dungeon. The storyline will remain the same, the only real difference is the Black Spider's motivation for doing what he has been doing in the area.  

Wave Echo Cave

Once the players begin traversing Wave Echo Cave they are all going to start receiving flashbacks of a battle none of them have been in (it will be the battle at Wave Echo Cave 500 years ago), along with other relevant things, such as:
  • Karos will see visions of Selune and other blessing-related things
  • Staska will have visions of someone she doesn't know (it will be Lyria) using the amulet to fight against darkness
  • Sugarbob will see visions of Alaric and the sword doing both good and evil things.
This is going to start happening when the players get to Wave Echo Cave as part of the Lost Mines of Phandelver campaign, giving them hints of the past.
 

Meeting With Nezznar

  • He will be at Wave Echo Cave because he is scouting out the area as he only recently learned of its location.
  • Nezznar will be in possession of the Meadow's amulet. However, I want him to lose the amulet to the team, but get away. I want him to have been unprepared but confident to meet the team.
  • Arillious will be in the cave and reveal himself to the party when they confront Nezznar. Arillious will have cont acted Nezznar prior to this meeting and has alerted him of the adventurer's.
  • Nezznar is helping Arillious because he believes he recognized him as the ancestor of the old leader and the person who is supposed to bring glory to their order. I haven't figured out how just yet, but I'll get back to that.
  • As part of the conversation with the heros Nezznar realises he recognizes Sugarbobs sword, old and worn as it may be, and notices the glowing scars on Karos' hands. He starts asking probing questions and begins realizing who this group is and that fate has brought them back together. This is going to confuse the group, but will lead up to a conversation with Gundfren, which will then set the hero’s on their new questline we are developing.
  • As Nezznar is interogating the group about their backgrounds, at some point strong enemies will enter the room, starting a fight. At some point during that fight Nezznar is going to start losing the upper hand and will drop the amulet, he will then be backed into a corner by the enemies and then disappear with Arillious, leaving behind the amulet. Before he leaves, he says to Meadow "Tell your grandmother I said I said hi".
  • From there, the adventurer's will want to seek out Meadow's grandmother in Silverymoon so they can learn more about their adeventure. They will learn of a prophecy surrounding the amulet, and given directions to go to Silverymoon to learn more.
This will end Chapter 1.
