Thornhold

Dwarven stronghold with a stone keep atop the cliffs that look out to sea. The Mere of Dead Men sprawls to the north and the coastal High Road trails southeast to Waterdeep. 

Lord Ebenezer Stoneshaft  is the presiding authority.

The usual slew of stables, shops, and houses lay within the stronghold's walls. Though the Caradoon Cup - a community tavern run by the enigmatic Billian Stoneshaft - is the standout enterprise.

Defences

Large walls on three sides - the western side of the settlement has no wall but gives way immediately to a cliff that plummets down into rough seas. A large stone keep sits atop this cliff.

History

The keep itself used to be owned by the Margaster family. Though Thornhold passed through a few hands before falling under the ownership of the Stoneshafts - there are rumblings that the Margaster family wants the stronghold back.
