• Rumour has it that the THE BLACKSTAFF, LORD MAGE OF WATERDEEP is activating her personal force of agents, FORCE GREY.
• Many in Waterdeep expect that THE BLACKSTAFF, LORD MAGE OF WATERDEEP, being relatively young and inexperienced, will blunder in her attempts to deal with the various demands of the nobles, the merchants, the THE MASKED LORDS OF WATERDEEP and the THE OPEN LORD OF WATERDEEP.
• The fact that both THE XANATHAR GUILD and MANSHOON subfaction of THE ZHENTARIM have taken an interest in RENAER NEVEREMBER, would indicate that there must be something going on.
• THE XANATHAR GUILD certainly doesn't trouble itself with trivial matters, and it would seem that at least some of THE ZHENTARIM are determined to wage a war with the city's biggest crime syndicate.
• MELOON WARDRAGON has been tasked with keeping an eye out for possible new recruits for FORCE GREY
• MELOON WARDRAGON has been attacked by NIHILOOR and infested with an INTELLECT DEVOURER - he is being controlled to do the bidding of THE XANATHAR GUILD and, as such, will try to dissuade others from investigating the crime guild and will take a chance to attack agents of THE ZHENTARIM if he can do so in secret.
• DURNAN was once a great adventurer who, along with MIRT, A MASKED LORD OF WATERDEEP, made his fortune by raiding in UNDERMOUNTAIN. He used his wealth to construct the tavern around the entrance to the dungeon complex - adventurers spend money in his tavern and pay the "tax" he enforces to use the well entrance.
• RENAER NEVEREMBER is ashamed of his father's actions and wants to clean up the Neverember name in Waterdeep.
• HYUSTUS STAGET, despite appearing distrusting of the PCs, is intrigued by them and foresees a potential alliance with them depending on how they proceed over the next few days and weeks. To this end, he has instructed a SPY to tail the characters as they make their way around the city. A failed Stealth (against one of the PCs Passive Perception) check by the spy, reveals this fact to the group.
