Wyvern

Wyverns are large winged lizards distantly related to true dragons. Allegedly created by the aearee over thirty thousand years before Dalereckoning, they are recognisable for their four-limb configuration, draconic visage, sharp teeth, and venomous stinging tail. Wyverns often hunt in the hills and mountains of the world, attacking livestock and much less commonly people. Their tail has a stinger that can inject deadly poison capable of disintegrating internal organs. As such, the tail stinger is highly prized by alchemists across Faerûn. When raised from hatching, it is possible - albeit very difficult - to tame a wyvern.
