Lich

Liches are powerful undead spellcasters created through dark rituals. Through sacrificing innocent souls, they gain the power to live forever and recover from any injury. Typically, liches begin their unlife as powerful wizards searching for immortality. While other methods exist, lichdom offers irresistable magical power to unscrupulous wizards. The main source of a lich's immortality is their phylactery, a small object that contain's their soul. So long as the phylactery is intact, the lich can reform its body if it is killed. However, the phylactery must be continuously fed with souls in order to maintain it. If a lich fails to provide the souls, it deteriorates into a demilich.
